CM will launch Grama Jyothi on Aug. 17: KTR

Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT K T Ramarao today said the TRS government is of people and would serve them to best of its ability. Soon we will extend interest-free loan component to Rs 10 lakh for self-help groups and help them lead dignified lives.

Participating in a program to offer loans and distributing assets to women of Self-Help Groups at Manchala in Ranga Reddy district on Friday, KTR said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would launch Grama Jyothi program on August 17. A plan was being prepared to achieve overall development of the villages through this new program by decentralization of funds and powers, he declared. He said ministers and officials are all for serving the people. “We are here to serve you and vying for your cause through various schemes of welfare and offer timely financial succor to the women-folk in the State”, he said.

The minister also said as the TRS government was committed to the welfare of the people and women, it has come up with many schemes and 37 lakh people are getting pensions. Unmindful of financial burden, the TRS government was offering six kg fine rice to each person of a family, he said, adding that the Chief Minister has increased honorarium to local people’s representatives as they desired. The government would soon issue orders to enable the village panchayats to spend 50 per cent of its revenue for the village development, KTR announced. (NSS)
