The Hyderabad City Police have emerged as the Overall Champion and created history at the first Telangana State Police Sports and Games meet-2015 held in Adilabad district from November 5 to 8. The Gmes & Sports Met is an important arena, where police personnel from all units from districts and special Police of Telangana compete and display their strength.
The team under the able guidance of City Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy and personally trained and supervised by Siva Prasad, Joint Commissioner of Police (CAR) achieved the wonder. Siva Prasad selected the skilled players and provided them with track suits and all necessary arrangements till they reached Adilabad. His commitment led to the overwhelming success of the Hyderabad City Police Team.
The team stood as winner by securing 71 points with 91 medals followed by Karimnagar with 55 points. City Cops emerged as winners in foot ball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Gymnasium, Judo (Men), Boxing (Men & Women), Wrestling (Men & Women), weightlifting (men) and hand ball events. In all, they won 45 gold medals, 29 silver medals and 17 bronze medals. (NSS)
