Christians to get new clothes on Dec. 16: Rajaiah

As part of celebrating Christmas as a State festival in Telangana, the government will distribute clothes to poor Christians on December 16, according to former deputy chief minister and MLA Dr T Rajaiah.

Talking to mediapersons at the Secretariat Media Point here on Tuesday, the TRS leader said the State government allocated Rs 15.37 crore for distributing new clothes to the poor Christians in 195 churches. The Government will also host Christmas Festival Banquet in nodal churches across the State, including districts on December 19, Rajaiah said.

Rajaiah expressed gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for conduct Christmas as State festival as it was done in case of Ramzan, Bathukamma and Bonalu festivals. New clothes will be distributed among the poor Christians in Hyderabad and Secunderabad and districts, he stated. The TRS Government is pro-poor and implementing many welfare schemes in the State, he claimed. (NSS)
