Chouhan meets Modi

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, embroiled in a row over the Vyapam scam in his state, on Friday met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence here.

“The meeting was called to discuss the report of NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog’s sub-committee, headed by Chouhan,” a Madhya Pradesh government official told IANS.

However, sources said, cabinet expansion in Madhya Pradesh was also on Chouhan’s agenda.

Both houses of parliament on Friday witnessed strong protests by the Congress-led opposition over the Madhaya Pradesh Vyavsayik Pareeksha Mandal or Vyapam scam.

Proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been repeatedly disrupted since the start of the monsoon session on July 21 over the Vyapam recruitment scam and other issues.
