Chappell rips into `lacklustre` Windies for `rubbish` performance

Melbourne: Former Australian captain Ian Chappell has launched a blistering tirade against the current West Indies squad for displaying ‘a load of rubbish’ on the opening day of the first Test against Australia in Hobart.

Australia dominated the tourists by amassing massive 438 runs for the loss of three wickets at stumps. It was the most runs the Windies had conceded in a day in their Test history.

Describing the Windies performance as ‘ lacklustre’, Chappell said that it was depressing and sad the once formidable West Indies slumped to such depths, News.com.au reported.

Chappell also said that it was a disgrace that the level of Caribbean cricket had been allowed to slip to this stage, insisting that Cricket couldn’t allow one of its major drawcards to play like they did on Day one. (ANI)
