Channabasappa arrested over his remark ” Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would be beheaded if he eats beef”

Bengaluru: Local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader SN Channabasappa, who had stoked a controversy by saying that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would be beheaded if he eats beef, was on Tuesday arrested by the police.

He was arrested by Karnataka Police under section 153, 353 and 506 for his remarks on Siddaramaiah.

The former president of Shimoga City Municipal Council earlier accused Siddaramaiah of behaving like a ‘dictator’ and dared him to eat beef.

“Let him eat beef and come to Gopi Circle, he will be beheaded,” he had said in a public gathering.

Last week, reacting to the beef row and recent incidents related to it, Siddaramaiah had said “I will eat beef now. Who are you to question me?”.(ANI)
