The State government on Thursday ordered that all number plates of vehicles in Telangana State should be changed within four months.
According to the orders of Telangana State Transport Department, the State code ‘AP’ will be replaced with ‘TS’ and the district codes will be changed accordingly. While the 4-digit number will be remain same. The officials said a period of 4 months was given to all the owners of the vehicles that bounded in Telangana State to change to the new pattern. The vehicle owners can also get the service by availing online registration service.
To this effect, the Telangana Government amended Telangana Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. In the said rules after rule 81. (NSS)
