Ceremonial Parade held at Fire Services Training Institute

A colorful ceremonial Parade was held on the occasion of the Passing Out Parade of 60 trainees of 13th Batch of Constable/Driver Cum Pump Operator Basic Course and 3 trainees of 26th Batch Constable/Fire Basic Course at Fire Service Training Institute (FSTI), National industrial security Academy (NISA) here on Friday.

Anil Kumar, Inspector General, CISF Training Sector, NISA, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest and reviewed the parade.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Kumar complimented the Institute staff and trainees for excellent parade. He recounted the glorious past of CISF and highlighted the stellar role played by CISF Fire Wing in the growth and development of the country. He stressed upon the contribution made by CISF Fire Wing by protecting precious lives & properties due to devastating fire and other disasters in the vital installations all across the country. He exhorted the trainees to uphold the glorious legacy of CISF, to uphold the Constitution and to perform their duties with sincerity, devotion and integrity.

In his welcome address, Shikhar Sahai DIG, FSTI gave an overview of training activities at FSTI and informed that, since its inception in year 1987, the Institute has conducted 485 fire courses and trained 16610 personnel. In addition, FSTI has also conducted 188 courses and trained 9139 personnel in Disaster Management.

During the training trainees have acquired skills in a wide array of subjects ranging from indoor subjects like Industrial Security, Security of Buildings, Monuments & Vital Installations, CISF Acts & Rules, Definition of Fire, Classification of Fire, Chemistry of Combustion, Basic Fire Theorems, Different types of extinguishing media and their application techniques, Different types of Fire Fighting Extinguishers, Knowledge on Fire Fighting Equipments, i.e First Aid, Artificial Respiration, Medical First Responder, Rope knots & lines , Special Services, General Fire Hazards and fire safety in Industries, Aircraft Fire and Ship Fire , Discipline, Major Fire fighting appliances, Nuclear Biological& Chemical Emergencies etc.,

They have also been imparted strenuous training on handling of weapons, Drill Movements apart from physical training. The Institute is a premiere training Institution in the field of Fire Fighting and Disaster Management Training. In addition to its basic mandate of training CISF Fire Cadre personnel it has also imparted fire and disaster management training to personnel from other organisations such as Police, Navy & CG, Railways, Parliamentary Security, NDRF, PSUs like ECIL, ONGC, IOC, SAIL, Paradeep Port, Gujarat, Electricity Board etc. And also foreign countries such as Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Philippines, Bangladesh etc.

Later, Anil Kumar gave away trophies to the trainees who stood first in Indoor, Outdoor and All Round Best performance in Basic Course CT/DCPO Rajeev Kumar was adjusted as All Round Best. (INN)
