Bodies of 4 members of a family found with throats slit

Puri: The bodies of four members of a family, including two minor girls, were this evening found with their throats slit inside their residence in Nagara village in Odisha’s Puri district, police said.
The bodies of Dinabandhu Mallick (65), a retired district inspector of schools, his wife Nirmala and daughters Saswati (13) and Pranati (7) were discovered by villagers whose suspicions were raised after they found the main door of their house bolted from the outside, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Puri), Jagannath Pradhan.
The bodies were found on the ground floor of the two- storey building in the village located under Astaranga police station. There was blood splattered all over where the bodies were found, said Pradhan.
Police said that more than one person was involved in the alleged murder, adding that senior officers and a forensic team have rushed to the site where inquiries are underway.
