Black Day: MIM calls ‘Hyderabad bandh’

Hyderabad: MIM called ‘Hyderabad Bandh’ to mark the 23rd anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition. Meanwhile, elaborated security arrangements have been made by the city police to ensure peace, with various political parties and religious groups announcing a string of protest programmes.

“Many political parties will come. We have deployed 1,500 policemen in sensitive and vulnerable areas to avoid untoward incidents,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) V. Satyhanarayana.

“We have already taken into custody 150 rowdies and severely warned them as they are continuously involved in communal issues. By and large it is quiet and peaceful. We are ready to neutralize any situation,” he added. Police also clamped prohibitory orders in Hyderabad under section 144 of CrPC.
