Black box of crashed BSF plane recovered

Black box of the Border Security Force (BSF) plane (B 200 Super King) which crashed through the boundary wall of the Delhi airport, was recovered in New Delhi, sources said.

According to reports, the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorders in the black boxes are being studied to know what transpired inside the cockpit and the passenger area before it crashed. All the ten passengers onboard were killed after a Ranchi-bound BSF Superking aircraft crashed at Bagdola village in Sector 8, Dwarka here on Tuesday morning.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today paid tribute to BSF plane crash victims at the Safdarjung Airport. Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung also paid tribute to the victims.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed grief and distress on Wednesday at the loss of lives in the plane crash in the national capital. Earlier, President Pranab Mukherjee, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi had also condoled the loss of lives.

The BSF had announced on Tuesday Rs. 20 lakhs to the BSF family members from BSF’s internal insurance fund in addition to what the government will announce.
