Patna: Reacting to the statement issued by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veterans against the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the wake of the Bihar fiasco, the Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday said that the ruling party’s senior leaders had finally woken up to the mess being caused by their own top brass.
“I had said earlier that these ‘Brain dead’ would become ‘Brain alive’ after the BJP loses in Bihar. They would come out of their cold storage and they would be all heated and charged up. And exactly same has happened,” JD (U) spokesperson Ajay Alok told ANI.
Meanwhile, another JD (U) leader Ali Anwar said the ‘dictatorship’ in the ruling party was finally coming to light.
“The common people in Bihar use to say that one is Shah and another is Taana-shah (dictator). BJP was a cadre based party with a collective leadership but they have hijacked their own party,” Anwar told ANI.
“There is growing need to free the party from their (Modi-Shah) clutches and I feel the veterans are feeling the same,” he said.
Anwar added that the veterans were right in questioning the duo, saying ‘Amit Shah needs to answer them’.
In a scathing attack at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) top brass leadership for the Bihar debacle, party veteran including the likes of L.K. Advani, M.M. Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha said that the former failed to learn from the Delhi defeat.
“The results of the Bihar elections show that no lesson has been learnt from the fiasco in Delhi. To say that everyone is responsible for the defeat in Bihar is to ensure that no one is held responsible,” the veterans said in statement. (ANI)
