BJP wants CM to announce list of drought-hit mandals

Telangana State BJP president G Kishan Reddy has demanded that the State government extend financial assistance to farmers, who were suffering from severe drought conditions, by announcing a special package.

Along with party leaders, Kishan Reddy toured Nizamabad district on Tuesday and examined withered Soya and paddy crop. They inquired about the problems of the farmers in Mentrajpally village.

Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy asked the Chief Minister to convene Assembly session immediately to discuss farmers’ burning problems. It was atrocious that KCR was not bothered about the drought, though the district Collectors explained about the drought situation in the mandals, he alleged. He also alleged that the State government was neglecting in sending a report on drought to the Centre and it was not correct on the part of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to make comments like ‘there was no drought’ and ‘there was no crop loss’.

Demanding that the State government announce list of drought-hit mandals, Kishan Reddy made it clear that the BJP would extend helping hand to the farmers and asked them not to commit suicides. Nizamabad Urban former MLA Laxmi Narayana, Nizamabad district BJP president Ganga Reddy, Nizamabad constituency in-charge Anand Reddy and others were present. (NSS)
