BJP spreading false propaganda on Rahul’s nationality: Congress

Congress MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy and TPCC Spokesperson released a copy of certificate of incorporation in which AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi clearly mentioned his nationality as Indian.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, they strongly criticised BJP and accused Subramanian Swamy of spreading false propaganda to divert the attention of people from their defeat in Bihar and internal discontent within their party. “Subramanian Swamy is habitual of creating sensation by making false statements whenever he is sidelined. The question of nationality of Rahul Gandhi does not arise as he is born in India and in a family in which his grand mother and father sacrificed their lives for the nation,” they said.

The Congress leaders said that the BJP had earlier raised the issue of nationality of Congress president Sonia Gandhi to prevent her from becoming the Prime Minister. “This time too, they are deliberately raising the issue when Rahul Gandhi is about to take the reins of the Congress party. They should not forget that Rahul Gandhi has been elected as Lok Sabha member in 2004, 2009 and 2014. People will not believe their false propaganda,” they said. (INN)
