BJP protest over O. P. Sharma’s Delhi Assembly suspension causes traffic jam

New Delhi: Vikas Marg in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar witnessed a major pile up of traffic on Monday with protesting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers blocking the movement of vehicles over the suspension of their MLA O. P. Sharma for the entire Winter Session of the Delhi Assembly.

The agitators took to streets and raised slogans denouncing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and also burnt his effigies.

“The workers of Vishwasnagar Assembly Constituency are protesting today against the insult to their candidate in the Delhi Assembly and also against the dictatorial attitude of the AAP Government,” Sharma told ANI.

Sharma was suspended by Speaker Ram Niwas Goel after he hurled offensives at Aam Aadmi Party MLA Alka Lamba last week inside the Delhi Assembly.

During a discussion on homeless people and night shelters on Tuesday, Sharma attacked Lamba, saying, “Ye toh raat bhar ghumne wali hai.” (She wanders around all night)

Kejriwal had at time also expressed his shock over Sharma’s comments and hopedaction would be taken against him by the BJP. (ANI)
