Patna Police of Bihar in a secret operation arrested professional murderer (sharp shooter) Mohammed Raja, who was the main accused in the murder of the BJP leader Avinash Kumar in Bihar from Jubilee Hills area. 32 year old Raja shot dead the BJP leader on August 6 while the later was walking towards tea shop.
Raja was hiding in Hyderabad at a relative’s place after killing Avinash. On a tip off, police picked up Mohammed Raja from the hide out on Wednesday night while his two partners in crime, Anjum and Alauddin, after hiding in Mumbai for the last two weeks, surrendered before a court in Patna.
The crime was caught on a surveillance camera based on which the police made positive identification of the killers. The three men were hired by Panna Lal Gupta, a former Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) ward counselor, and his family members, who wanted Avinash dead due to their political rivalry in the past.
Gupta, his son Darshan, and daughter Jyoti were arrested a day after the crime was committed following an FIR filed by the victim’s family.
