BJP leaders complain to Guv against deletion of voters under GHMC

A delegation of Telangana BJP leaders, led by BJP floor leader Dr K Laxman, today called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at Rajbhavan and brought to his notice about the allegations of deletion of voters and delimitation of wards in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) unscientifically.

Speaking to mediapersons later, Laxman said they complained to the Governor that unwarranted interference of the ruling party in the process of GHMC elections has been increasing. They requested the Governor to ensure transparency in the conduct of elections for GHMC, he said. He also alleged that the State government was planning to conduct the GHMC elections during Sankranti festival holidays with ulterior motive. How elections could be held during holidays, he questioned

“We have complained to the Governor about the faulty policy of the TRS government in delimitation of wards. The Governor has responded positively on our complaints”, Laxman said and alleged that the wards have been divided in favor of TRS and MIM.

Khairatababad BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Greater Hyderabad party president B Venkat Reddy, Malla Reddy and Nagurao Namaji were among the delegation members. The BJP delegation also met newly GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy and lodged a complaint on the issue of controversy of delimitation of wards and allegation of deletion of names of voters from voters lists.
