BJP Flays Govt’s Attitude on Loan Waiver Issue, Suspension of Members

Strongly condemning the attitude of the ruling TRS party towards the problems of the farmers, the BJP floor leader in Telangana assembly Dr K Laxman termed the suspension of opposition members as a “ black day in the Telangana assembly”.

Talking to pressmen at assembly media point after suspension, he said TRS government has shattered the aspirations of the people in the new state, which they have achieved after a long struggle.

Laxman said the ruling party wanted to conduct the session as per its whims, and it is behaving in a way to suppress the opposition. Chief Minister KCR today insulted the state people and farmers, the BJP leader alleged. Taking a dig at KCR, Laxman said the Chief Minister himself has said that he cannot agree or accept all the demands of opposition which cannot be implemented (Gonthemma Korkelu). Is the demand to waive of loans of farmers at one time comes under such category, he questioned.

The ex-gratia announced by the government for farmers should also be applied for the weavers, he demanded and questioned how can they suspend them when they raised the issue in a democratic way on the problems of farmers and the people. There is no question of compromise on farmers’ problems. ‘We are ready to fight for the farmers. If necessary we will take the help other opposition parties’, Laxman said and alleged that MIM is not serious and sincere about the problems of the farmers. It is supporting the ruling party.

Opposition is united on the problems of farmers, and the ruling party is ridiculing democracy by suspending the opposition members, the BJP floor leader said. (NSS)
