BJP blames Rahul Gandhi for Congress’ downfall

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday alleged that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is responsible for his party’s downfall.

BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain, who was reacting to Gandhi’s recent visits to Assam and Odisha, said the Congress vice-president makes his party weak wherever he goes.

“Even though he is the vice-president of the Congress, he is working like the president. The Congress is a sinking ship and the people sailing on it don’t think Rahul Gandhi is capable enough to lead it,” he added.

Meanwhile, Hussain while commenting on the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls expressed confidence that the NDA would emerge victorious in the battle and said that the grand alliance of JD(U)-RJD will be outrightly rejected by the people.

The Bihar Assembly will go to polls in five phases. Voting for the first phase will be held on October 12, for second on October 16, for third on October 28, fourth on November 1 and fifth on November 5.

The counting of votes will take place on November 8.

Bihar has a total of 243 assembly seats and 6.68 crore electorate. (ANI)
