BJP attacks SP, BSP after Bihar poll debacle

Hitting back at SP and BSP for targeting it for its loss in the Bihar Assembly polls, the BJP today said these two parties should assess their “situation” before attacking the saffron party.

Attacking the BSP, BJP wondered as to how Mayawati’s party, which got only two per cent votes in the Bihar polls, was claiming to form the next government in Uttar Pradesh.

“Despite contesting on all 243 seats in Bihar, BSP got only two per cent of votes,” BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said adding that BSP supremo Mayawati, who is attacking his party, should assess her own situation.

Instead of assessing her own situation Mayawati is targeting us to boost the morale of her cadre, he said.

“People of UP still remember misrule and corruption during BSP regime,” he alleged.

He also took a dig at UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav saying he was making statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah when his own party SP has got only one per cent votes, he said.

He said that SP’s position was clear from the result of Bihar polls and the development model, which it claims, has been exposed, he said.

He said that BJP respects the mandate given by the people of Bihar and after reviewing results, BJP will take required corrective steps, sharpen its political strategy and “its workers will work to form the next government in UP”.
