Bihar people have rejected communal forces, both Modi and Owaisi

Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has welcomed the outcome of Bihar elections and described it as a victory of secularism in the country.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Sunday, Shabbir Ali congratulated the people of Bihar and the constituents of Mahakutumi – Congress, JD (U) and RJD, for their historic win over BJP and its allies. “Despite addressing over 30 meetings and spending crores of rupees, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to win the elections. People have proved that they would not get misled with fake promises and preferred secularism over special package in Bihar. RSS and Amit Shah’s ideology has been rejected and Bihar people have clearly reiterated that they would not support the successors of Nathram Godse,” he said.

Shabbir Ali strongly criticised Amit Shah and other BJP leaders for their provocative statements during the election campaign. “Amit Shah tried to link Bihar people with Pakistan. Now he must go to Pakistan to check whether his friends there are celebrating BJP’s defeat,” he said.

The Congress leader also welcomed the rejection of MIM candidates by the people of Bihar. “While Modi acted as big brother, MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi entered the fray as his younger brother. By rejecting both Modi and Owaisi, people have proved that there was no place for Hindu or Muslim communal forces in Bihar,” he said while saluting their decision. He said that the outcome of Bihar elections gave a new direction to the country. He said that the countdown for Modi’s fall has begun.

Shabbir Ali also asked Modi to clarify whether he would extend the Rs. 1.25 lakh crore package for Bihar which he announced during election campaign. He said that the money belongs to the people of India and in a federal structure, backward states deserve to get more funds. “Those funds are not Modi’s jagir and he was not doing a personal favour by giving a special package,” he said.

He predicted similar results in Warangal by-elections and said that the Congress candidate, Sarve Satyanarayana, would win with a huge majority. He said during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amravati, Narendra Modi, had commented against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and indirectly criticised formation of Telangana. He said people of Warangal would reply to Modi’s statement by rejecting the BJP candidate.

Shabbir Ali strongly condemned the arrest of a farmer Kumaraiah for raising a question during the TRS meeting. “TRS Government should be ashamed of itself for sending a farmer to Central Jail just for expressing his anger over government’s apathy. Kumaraiah should be released with 24 hours. Else, the Congress party will launch a massive agitation,” he warned. (INN)
