Big relief: Hyderabad gets new water reservoir in Gosha Mahal constituency

With the inauguration of 10 million liter (ML) capacity reservoir at Allabanda, the residents of Goshamahal constituency will now get relief from water crisis.

An estimated 1.15 lakh residents of Ziaguda, Ghode-ki-khabar and Allabanda would get benefited from the new water reservoir constructed at a cost of Rs 21.63 crore. The inauguration of reservoir was carried out by Deputy chief minister Mahamood Ali and home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Thursday.

In a related development, the water board has released another 28 million gallons of Godavari water per day to the city.

Speakingt at the occasion Deputy CM said that “the new reservoir will help provide good quality water, will increase the duration of supply. There will be improvement in water pressure also,” he said.

According to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) several areas including Rahimpura, Mo hanlal Nagar, Allabanda Natraj Nagar, Server nagar Jirra and Indira Nagar in Al abanda, Bada Banda, Mus aid Pura, Maqbara, Ganga Bowli, Kulsampura, K S Na gar and Indira Nagar in Zia guda, Nayee Basthi, Chakna Wadi, Begum Bazar, Chudi Bazar and Kamatipura in Gode-ki-Khabar would get adequate water supply.

Meanwhile, the water board has appealed to the consumers not to waste water, as the water levels in the reservoirs hit the crucial Minimum Draw Down Level.
