Bhatt elected as Uttarakhand BJP chief

Dehradun: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member and leader of opposition in the Uttrakhand assembly Ajay Bhatt was on Thursday elected as the president of the party’s state unit.

He was the only candidate to submit nomination for the party president’s post.

Earlier, party’s central observer and state in charge Shyam Jaju and another observer Rakesh Singh reached Dehradun to conduct the party president’s election.

Both leaders on Thursday announced the party’s new state president.

Before announcement, both leaders discussed the party MP’s, MLA’s and party office bearers to get referendum.

On the occasion, Bhatt said that his main focus is next state assembly election to be held in 2017. (ANI)
