Bangladesh custom officials arrest man with 36 gold bars at airport

Dhaka: Bangladesh custom officials have arrested a man carrying 36 gold bars at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

According to The Daily Star, Faisal Hasan was arrested by a team of custom’s preventive team.

Hasan, who was on board the Emirates flight EK 582 from Abu Dhabi, was arrested soon after the flight landed at the airport, said Shahiduzzam Sarkar, assistant commissioner of customs.

Sarkar said they found 36 pieces of gold and that the market price of the gold is approximately Tk two crore.
