Ban order in Hyderabad, Cyberabad

With a view to maintain public order, peace and tranquility in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy promulgated prohibitory order which takes effect from 0600 hours on December 11 to 0600 hours on December 17.

The Police Commissioner prohibited holding of public meetings and processions under City limits without obtaining prior permission from Law & Order Zonal Dy. Commissioners of Police, Addl. Commissioner of Police or Jt. Commissioner of Police, Co-ordination & Security or Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad. Carrying of arms such as swords, spears, knives, sticks with or without flags bludgeons, guns, explosives and other offensive weapons are banned. The order prohibits gathering of persons on the public roads or public places disturbing peace and order or causing inconvenience, annoyance or danger to public. Collection and carrying of stones or other means of casting missiles are also prohibited.

The order further prohibits use of mikes/public address system around the Secretariat premises, including Burgula Rama Krishna Rao Building, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Building, Commissioner of Fisheries building, Mint Compound, Nizam College and its surroundings, Telangana/A.P. Legislative Assembly premises and surrounding roads, Public Garden Nampally, Upper Tankbund, I–MAX, Rotary and NTR Marg roads also fly-over road leading from Secretariat to Visweswarayya statue, Khairatabad. The Commissioner also prohibited music, singing or speeches or broadcasting through loud speakers in the city. The public are warned that any person violating the ban order will be prosecuted under the Hyderabad City Police Act. However, police officers on duty, Military personnel, Home Guards and bonafide funeral processions are exempted from the operation of the ban order.

In Cyberabad police limits till March 10, 2016

Meanwhile, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand has reviewed the law and order situation under Cyberabad police limits and with a view to maintain public order, peace and tranquility promulgated prohibitory orders under Section 144 Cr PC prohibiting assembly of five or more persons in Cyberabad police limits.

The prohibitory order will remain in force from 6 pm on December 10 to March 10, 2016. (NSS)
