BAC Decides 10 Days’ Assembly Session–CM Favors Suicides’ Debate On Sept 29

The Business Advisory Committee chaired by Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary has decided to conduct the Monsoon Assembly session for 10 days, from 10 am to 2 pm. At the BAC meeting, it was decided to resume the sittings on Sept 29, and continue for next two days on September 30 and October 1. While there will be no sittings for three days, on Oct 2 being Gandhi Jayanthi, Oct 3 being Saturday and Oct 4 being the Sunday, the house will begin again on Oct 5 and will continue for six days till 10.
The Speaker said that the house, which began on Wednesday, was adjourned to September 29. The Tuesday sitting sans question hour, and will just confine the whole day for a thorough discussion on farmers’ suicides and agricultural issues. According to credible information, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao himself suggested first to confine Sept 29 for discussion on suicides and agriculture related issues, without any question hour.
All the members in the meeting agreed for the schedule to run for 10 days. Telugu Desam floor leader E Dayakar Rao made a vain bid to take up the issue of removal of voters in Sanathanagar segment, irrigation projects and drought. The speaker, at the behest of KCR, said that any other issues will be discussed later on, it is learnt. After a discussion for more that an hour, the BAC has taken a call to resume the sittings on Sept 29 and discuss elaborately on farmers’ suicides and agricultural problems in the state.
Those who attended the BAC meeting include Ministers Harish Rao and Rajender, Deputy speaker Padma Devender Reddy, TD leader Dayakar Rao, Congress leader K Jana Reddy, BJP leader Dr K Lakshman, MIM leader Akbaruddin, left parties leaders Ravindra Kumar and S Rajaiah.(NSS)
