Assembly Secretaries – New rules of appointment under consideration

Hyderabad: High Court of Hyderabad set aside the appointments of MLAs as Parliamentary Secretaries. Mr. KCR is considering for the appointment of MLAs as Assembly Secretaries. It is reported that after the clearance from the departments of General Administration, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, a formal notification is likely to be issued.

It may be noted that Congress MP, Mr. G. Sukhendra Reddy and TDP MLA, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy had challenged in the High Court about the appointment of MLAs as Parliamentary Secretaries. As a result of court judgment, Mr. V. Satish Kumar, Mr. Srinivas Goud, Ms. K. Lakshmi, Mr. J. Venkat Rao and Mr. Vinay Bhaskar had to resign from their posts. Govt. is now actively considering to appoint these dismissed Parliamentary Secretaries as Assembly Secretaries. It would be possible only if there are no legal complications.
