Dispur : Assam is set to enforce the National Food Security Act across the state from December 24.
The State Government announced that subsidised rice will be provided to two crore forty lakh people, under the Food Security Act.
The government said that 60 percent population from the towns and 84 percent of the people living in villages will be benefited.
According to the Act, every eligible person will get five kilograms of rice every month at the cost of three rupees per kilogram. (ANI)
