Asif slams critics, says nobody’s selection is guaranteed in Pak squad

Karachi, Sept.7 : Disgraced Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif has lashed out at cricketers, who were refusing to play along with him, former skipper Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir, saying that who knows they might themselves not be in the squad in future.

The 32-year-old also said that it is not a team of a local village, where some players don’t want others to play, insisting that Pakistan will choose them irrespective of their critics’ opinion about them, the Dawn reported.

Asif further said that these opposing cricketers are not selectors and they will not have any influence on the selectors either.

The tainted player further admitted that he is physically fit and mentally prepared for his return in cricket, but added that he has to concentrate on one thing at a time.

Asif has appeared in 23 Tests, 38 ODIs and 11 Twenty20s for his country. He made his Test debut against Australia and ODI debut against England in 2005.(ANI)
