Kuala Lumpur: Keeping his expectation from the deliberations of the 13th ASEAN Summit high here, an optimistic Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that ASEAN will reinforce prospects of prosperity for India.
“We meet at a time of multiple global challenges. In these times India and ASEAN are two bright spots of optimism. ASEAN will reinforce prosperity for our people. Connectivity is a pathway to shared prosperity,” Prime Minister Modi said while addressing the 13th ASEAN-India Summit at the Convention Centre here.
He said ASEAN remains India’s largest investment partner, both for inward and outward flows, but there is great potential for expansion.
“We intend to set up an ASEAN India innovation platform. Trade and investment will grow as our economy grows,” he added.
Prime Minister asserted that ASEAN-India ties will ensure prosperity for 1.9 billion people.
“Science, technology, innovation and space indicates the way forward with ASEAN in these areas,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi thanked Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak for hospitality and leadership. (ANI)
