Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor J.P. Rajkhowa on Friday expressed surprise over the Gauhati High Court‘s stay order on the advancing the date of the assembly session from January 14 to December 16 by him.
A Single Judge Bench of the high court had issued a stay order on Thursday.
The high court also keep in abeyance the assembly proceedings, including removal of Speaker Nabam Rebia by a resolution of 33 MLAs and asking for maintaining status quo ante.
Earlier, the Speaker had filed a petition challenging the notification issued by the Governor on advancing the state assembly session.
The next hearing will be held on February 1. (ANI)
