Army Jawan attained martyrdom after killing 10 guerrillas in 11 days

The army Jawan Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami who was killed by militants after he has killed 10 militants in 11 days gun war in the boarders. He is a special force soldier in Indian army and he was killed by 7 the militants in Kupwara. Defence spokesman of the Army’s Northern Command, Colonel S.D. Gosami said.

“He volunteered to join the elite para commando outfit of the Indian Army in 2002 and went on to gain the reputation of being one of the toughest soldiers of his unit — no small feat in an outfit that boasts of being one among the best in the world,” he said.

Lance Naik Goswami’s first operation was conducted in Khurmur, Handwara, on August 23 which resulted in elimination of three hardcore LeT terrorists from Pakistan. “He again volunteered for a second back-to-back operation in Rafiabad, Kashmir, over two days from August 26-27, in which three terrorists were killed and another was captured,” Col Goswami said. “The Lance Naik didn’t stop there and once again volunteered to be part of another ongoing anti-insurgency operation in the forest of Hafruda near Kupwara on September 3,” the Army spokesperson said, adding that this operation proved to be his last, but not before he eliminated four terrorists in a fierce gun battle.

In Uttarakhand, labour minister Harish Chandra Durgapal, who was present during the last rites of the brave soldier, said, “The state government is committed to helping the family in every possible way. We sleep in our homes because these bravehearts are vigilant on the borders.” Durgapal also announced that the road near Nath Goswami’s house would be named after the martyr. Chief minister Harish Rawat and many others expressed their grief over Goswami’s death and promised every possible help to the family. Nath Goswami is survived by a seven-year-old daughter, wife and mother.

He was given full military honor and in his hometown Haldwani. Col SD Goswami said that the braveheart soldier Lance Naik Goswami from Nainital (district) has created a unique history of valour and dedication to duty and attained martyrdom after killing 10 guerrillas in 11 days. He is also remembered as a dedicated son, a loving husband and an affectionate father.
