Archaeological Department working under Central government should immediately come into action for protection of Historical Charminar and complete the project of chemical cleaning and restoration of Charminar by obtaining funds. The restoration work continued in Qutub Shahi Tombs by Agha Khan Trust has got American funding. Similarly restoration work of Charminar should immediately begin with the support of any American or European country as the plaster of the walls is falling off inside Charminar. If this destruction is neglected there is a risk of losing the great heritage structure. Anuradha Reddy, convenor of INTACH Hyderabad chapter told that Archaeological department should come forward for preservation of Charminar because the pace with which the restoration work is in progress is not satisfactory. She claims that Charminar’s condition is fast deteriorating.
