AR Rahman’s ‘Dhakka Laga Bukka’ adapted for NH7 Weekender fest

Mumbai: Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman’s hit number “Dhakka Laga Bukka” from Mani Ratnam’s “Yuva” has been recreated for music festival NH7 Weekender.

The festival’s rendition features the maestro himself, who is this year’s headliner, and Karthik on the vocals alongwith musicians like Vishal Dadlani and Papon, Samara Chopra (The Ska Vengers), Smiti Malik (Chayan & Smiti), Abhishekh Nailwal and Alisha Pais.

Produced and arranged by renowned musician Ranjit Barot, the track also features bass baron Nucleya and rapper Naezy teaming up with Rodrigo y Gabriela on acoustic guitars, Warren Mendonsa on lead guitar, Niladri Kumar on Zitar, Mohini Dey on bass, Rahul Hariharan and Jai Row Kavi on drums.

The music video is said to be the reflection of the untameable spirit of the festival. The festival’s sixth edition kicked off earlier this year in Shillong and Kolkata. The Delhi edition will take place from November 28-29, in Pune from December 4-6 and Bangalore for December 5-6.
