Apple releases update watchOS 2 for Apple Watch after delay

Washington: Apple has officially launched watchOS 2 for the Apple Watch.

According to the Verge, the new update comes with a number of new features including native third-party app support.

Apple initially planned to release watchOS 2 on September 16 alongside iOS 9.

But the company was forced to delay the release at the last minute due to an unexpected bug.

The update paves the way for developers to provide a better experience for Apple Watch owners. The app developers can now build native apps and take advantage of all the sensors with watchOS 2.

At present, third-party apps that run on the watch are beamed down from a paired iPhone, but apps that run directly on the Watch promise to be faster and much more capable.

The users can also expect new Complications, custom watch faces and improvements to Siri, Maps, and Digital Touch.

The updated operating system is now available to download for everyone. (ANI)
