AP to issue white paper on mining policy soon

The Andhra Pradesh government will soon release a white paper on the government’s mining policy. In this regard, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting on Monday on sand mining and sale.

Questioning officials about the escalating maintenance costs, Naidu asked them to submit a report to him on the costs (starting from sand mining at the reach to selling it to the end user). Stating that customers are the priority, Chief Minister said the order should reach customers within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, it was decided that a review meeting will be held on Tuesday to discuss each aspect that needs to be included. For this, the Chief Minister asked the officials to do a feasibility study on mining and operations in the neighboring States. Suggesting to officials to remain vigilant about sand mafia’s operations, the Chief Minister asked officials to look into discrepancies and ensure that operations are carried out efficiently and smoothly.

Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Acchan Naidu, Peethala Sujatha, Advisor (Communications) Dr Parakala Prabhakar, Principal Secretary to CM Satish Chandra, Secretary to CM Sai Prasad and others were present. (NSS)
