AP CS reviews works on railway projects

Focus on acquiring land to take up railway line project between Nadikudi of Guntur District and Srikalahasthi of Chittoor District at the earliest by issuing notifications, as it is a top priority project of the both – Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao said.

Krishna Rao held a meeting today with the officials of South Central Railways, Forest Department and District Officials of Guntur to review on the progress of railway projects viz., Nadikudi-Srikalahasthi Railway line and doubling works between Guntur and Guntakal.

Guntur District Collector Kantilal Dande has briefed about the position of the works taken up for acquiring land for railway project and informed that the preliminary notification will be issued by end of September 2015.

The Chief Secretary issued instructions to the District Officials of Guntur that the land may be acquired from the concerned by paying reasonable compensation. Compensation land to be identified for the extent of 17.72 acres of Forest land in the Nakerikallu Mandal of Narasaraopet Division, Guntur District, for the proposed railway line, Chief Secretary said.

Krishna Rao suggested the Railway officials that to enquire with the concerned District Officers whether there is any land belongs to Endowments Department involved in this project to make alternate arrangements for the same.

The Railway line passing through Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore Districts would have developed the backward areas of these Districts and easy access to reach capital city of Andhra Pradesh would made available throughout the State after completion of this type of other Railway projects, Chief Secretary expressed.
