AP Chief Secretary seeks investments in new capital region

Andhra Pradesh government is welcoming financial institutions from other countries for investments in new capital region for its economic growth, Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao said today.

A delegation from British High Commission met Rao at AP Secretariat here.

The delegation interacted with the secretaries (of various departments) and discussed about the opportunities in government to government collaboration, an official release said.

“Andhra Pradesh is good for investments and participation with Andhra Pradesh is the first priority of the agenda,” officials of British High Commission informed, as per the release.

The Chief Secretary briefed the delegation about the skill development, primary sector growth in the state.

“Investments from other countries supported by the other institutions in the new capital region will help the state economic growth, industries development by providing good job opportunities,” he said.

He also said that the AP Government is seeking technical assistance for establishing ‘Centre for Good Governance’ and other training institutions.

John Gould, Director, UK Trade Investment and Prosperity, India at the British High Commission, New Delhi and Roli Asthana, Deputy Head of Office and Head of Development Partnership Hub, DFID, India, British Deputy High Commissioner Hyderabad Andrew McAllister and Abhilash Puzhakara, Special Chief Secretary Planning S P Tucker, Secretary Finance K Sunitha and others attended the meeting, it added.
