In a major milestone in the history of LED technology utilization which helps the humankind in reducing green house gases and protecting the environment as well as reducing the electricity bills to the consumers Andhra Pradesh stood Number 1 in the Country by crossing One Crore LED Bulb distribution by this evening.
In fact, it’s a World record in completing one Crore LED bulbs distribution in a span of just one year. On this auspicious occasion Minister of State for Coal, Power & MNRE GoI, Piyush Goyal tweeted that “congratulations to the people of AP as it becomes the first state to cross 1.0 Cr LED bulbs distribution under Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP)” .
While wholeheartedly appreciating the efforts of Chief Secretary Dr. I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, Secretary Energy I&I Sri. Ajay Jain and other official missionary of Energy Department including the SECM and DISCOMs in reaching 1Cr. LED bulbs distribution in AP the, the Chief Minister N. Chandra Babu Naidu has expressed happiness over the way the DELP scheme is being implemented, to help the consumers in reducing their electricity bills apart from reducing the burden on the power system. Actually the entire credit goes to the public for their excellent participation and cooperation for making the Energy Efficiency movement a grand success and they have proved that these pro public activities will help the mankind in the long run
Enthused with the achieving rapid results in energy conservation the Chief Minister has further sets targets for SECM & DISCOMs and other key departments to make AP as the best energy efficient state in the country as well as in the world said Ajay Jain who has briefed the Hon’ble CM on the developments leads reaching One Crore.
CM has also conveyed best wishes to the officials of the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, who are the Energy Services Company (ESCO) involved in procurement and distribution of LED Bulbs as part of DELP programme. National level distribution of LED bulbs reached today to a level of 3.15 Cr. out of which AP has achieved 1 Crore, Said Sri Ajay Jain.
Saurabh Kumar, MD/EESL has said that the success story of Andhra Pradesh in distribution of LED bulbs is likely to be discussed in United National climate change conference to held in Paris. The DELP programme is presently underway in Krishna, Vizayanagaram, Vishakhapatbam, East Godavari, Prakasam & Chittoor Districts and daily on an average 1.5 Lakh Bulbs are being distributed. District wise No. of Bulbs distributed so far to cross one Crore milestone. (NSS)
