Anna corners Govt. on OROP scheme, says ‘people should raise their voice’

New Delhi, July 26 : Veteran social activist Anna Hazare on Sunday criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA Government over the delay in implementation of the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme and urged the people to raise their voice on the issue.

“A soldier guards the country’s border in difficult conditions in places like Leh and Ladak. The present government had also promised before the elections that they would implement the One Rank, One Pension scheme. It has been over a year now and nothing has been done…Therefore, the people should raise their voice ,” Hazare told ANI.

The OROP scheme has been a long-standing demand of ex-servicemen’s associations and relates to payment of uniform pension to defence forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement. (ANI)
