Andhra Pradesh CM issues call to participate in smart villages

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s call to participate in developing smart villages and smart wards has received positive responses from about 12,745 people, it was officially announced here today.

According to a release issued here by the AP state government, the AP CM held a teleconference with about 8,000 people from his camp office here.

He announced that the AP government would set up an independent organisation to look after the activities of smart villages and smart cards, the release said.

Naidu said that fruits of economic reforms have remained confined only to cities and villages face as lack of amenities.

He said that the well being of rural people is the primary aim of these smart village partners.

Naidu announced a 20-point programme to develop smart villages and appealed to them to create smart villages to transform the state into a ‘Swarna Andhra Pradesh’.
