Criticizing Assam Governor’s remark, President Telangana Pradesh Congress Minority Department Mohammed Khaja Fakhruddin, welcomed film star Amer Khan’s reaction and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s support to Amer Khan. He asked BJP and Hindutva forces to shun wrong-headedness and fulfill the promises made to people. He claimed that intolerance had increased since BJP led NDA government came to power.
Several intellectuals, writers and artists tried to rouse the central government by returning the awards as mark of protest against the rising intolerance but instead of respecting their feelings, the BJP leaders alleged that award returning was politically motivated and those who returned awards did it for some consideration. Mr. Fakhruddin asserted that first Shahrukh Khan and now Amer Khan was on Hindutva’s target.
