Ameerpet land case against Rosaiah rejected

In a relief to Tamil Nadu Governor Konijeti Rosaiah, the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday rejected a case filed against him and others in Ameerpet land case.

It may be mentioned here that a case was registered against Rosaiah, who was than chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh and others on charges of de-notifying a government land of about 9.14 acres thus benefiting some private persons in 2010. Later, Rosaiah became the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

The High Court had stayed an order of a designated ACB court which had issued summons to Rosaiah to appear before the court. The High Court also observed that the orders of ACB court were in violation of Article 361 of the Constitution and issue of summons to a State Governor was not valid. The court set aside the case for lack of sufficient evidence in the case. (NSS)
