Altaf Hussain takes back directive to close MQM offices

Karachi, July 23 (ANI): Shortly after issuing a call to shut down all party offices, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has taken his decision back.

The Dawn quoted sources in the party as saying that Hussain was ‘extremely angry’ with the Rabita committee over certain organisational matters and called members of the committee, directing them to close all offices. He hung up without listening to their responses.

On Wednesday night, all MQM offices, including its Nine Zero headquarters, were shut down on the party chief’s directive.

The committee’s members, parliamentarians and other office-bearers immediately stopped work and gathered outside Hussain’s Azizabad residence to calm him down by extending an apology. (ANI)
