A 40-year-old villager from Vikramgadh hanged his eight-year-old son to death and also committed suicide in his house, a district police official said on Monday.
Police inspector Sunil Nandwalkar of the Vikramgadh police station said that the deceased Krishna Mahadeo Biz, was an alcoholic who frequently quarreled with his wife.
The deceased also used to beat up his two children which was disliked by his wife, who had gone to her parents’ house in anger. The deceased had also cast aspersions on the “character” of his wife and also used to beat her up along with his children, the police official said.
On August 1, 2015 at about 6 pm, while his daughter Sonali had gone out to fetch water, he tied one end of a nylon rope to his son Jayesh’s neck and hanged him, while with the other end of the same rope, he hanged himself to death, the police official said. An offence under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered, the police official said.
