Aishwarya Rai Bachchan my idol: Scarlett Wilson

Mumbai, Sep 15; British model-dancer Scarlett Wilson, who entertained the audience on TV show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded”, says she is a fan of Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s dancing skills and looks up to her.

Scarlett is the ninth contestant to get eliminated from the celebrity dance show,

The 26-year-old model, who also performed on Aishwarya’s famous song “Dola Re” from “Devdas” in one of the episodes of “Jhalak…”, said she referred to the actress’ grace and facial expressions for her act.

“Aishwarya is my favourite in Bollywood and she will always be my idol. Any kind of song I do, I take reference from her. When Shamita (Shetty) and I performed on ‘Dola Re’, I thought about her facial expressions, how graceful she was in the song and how she moved… I am inspired by her,” Scarlett told PTI.

Calling her stint on the reality show the best experience of her life, Scarlett, who has appeared in item songs in films like “Baahubali” and “R.. Rajkumar”, is happy that she got a chance to perform in front of Shahid Kapoor and top filmmaker Karan Johar, who is no more a part of the show.

“‘Jhalak’ has been the best experience of my life because of the huge platform that it is and the different dance styles I got to perform, which I wouldn’t have got to do otherwise. I feel lucky to have been able to do different dance forms.

“One of the reasons I wanted to do ‘Jhalak’ was because of its esteemed jury. I wanted Karan Johar to know that I exist.

I feel blessed to have performed in front of him and other judges. It was an honour,” she said.

Of all the styles Scarlett performed, she counts Indian dance form as the biggest challenge as it required her to be technically sound.

“Indian dance styles were definitely most challenging.

When you are coming to to a different country and performing their dance style, you have to be good at it. You just can’t mug up the steps You can’t go wrong with that because you want to impress the judges and the audience,” the dancer said.

Like US actress-dancer Lauren Gotlieb, who is one of the judges on the show, Scarlett also wishes to make it big in Bollywood.

“She is definitely my inspiration. I don’t have dancing ability like her but the kind of success she has seen here is commendable. It feels good to see how Indian industry and audience have accepted her,” she said.

The Colors show is now left with Sanaya Irani, Shamita Shetty, Mohit Malik, Faisal Khan, Roopal Tyagi, Anita Hasnandani and Neha Marda.
