Accept that UPA contributed to Bihar’s development: Congress to PM Modi

New Delhi, July 25 : Congress leader PC Chacko on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should accept that that the UPA government contributed to the development of Bihar.

“With the same argument, Modi ji should accept that whatever development happened in Bihar is also the contribution of the UPA government,” Chacko told ANI, adding “they (BJP) haven’t done anything in the past one year.”

“During election, Modiji announced in Bihar that the state will get a special status. How much time does he need to give the special status? It’s been 13 months. Within these 13 months they couldn’t take any single step to give special status state to Bihar,” the senior Congress leader added.

Chacko further pointed out that the people of Bihar are not going to believe the announcements being made before the upcoming Assembly elections.

“And also as rightly said by Nitish Kumar, people of Bihar are not going to believe this. They waited for a year, nothing happened and the announcements that he making now before the elections, this also people are not going to believe,” he said.

The Prime Minister launched a number of government schemes on his day-long visit to Bihar today and promised the people of the state a package bigger than the amount of Rs 50,000 crore.

He also delivered a blow to the Nitish Kumar-led RJD by saying that he agreed with the latter that the development of Bihar has suffered due to politics. (ANI)
