ABVP releases manifesto for DUSU elections

New Delhi: RSS-affiliated students outfit Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday released its manifesto for the 2015 Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections.

The ABVP manifesto focuses on several key issues like effective implementation of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), implementation of the room rent control act, bringing in the paying guest regulation act, secure atmosphere for northeast students and Metro card concession for students.

“Our manifesto focuses on issues related to the problems of students in DU,” ABVP’s state secretary Saket Bahuguna said while releasing the manifesto.

Supporting CBCS, he said: “A good system like CBCS should be implemented in the correct manner so that students can get benefit from it. ABVP will ensure that the students of DU get all the choices that they deserve in the CBCS system.”

He said that the manifesto also talks about making the university campus safe for women.

“We demand a road to be named as ‘Nirbhaya Marg’ in the university campus. Our demands also include effective presence of police personnel in and near college campuses, self-defence programme for girls and round-the-clock helpline numbers for women’s safety.”
