Aadhar seeding of GHMC voters to be completed by month-end

GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar said that the Aadhar seeding process should be completed by this month end.

The Commissioner held a review meeting with GHMC Special Commissioner Navin Mittal and all the Deputy Commissioners with regard to Aadhar seeding at Standing Committee Hall of GHMC Head Office on Wednesday.

Somesh Kumar informed that of 73.69 lakh voters in GHMC limits, 25.79 lakh or about 36% have completed the Aadhar seeding. The existing 7,051 booth level officers have already completed 99.09% of door to door visits. About 16% of the voters were door lock cases, 28% change of residences and 16.67% are not having Aadhar cards.

For the voters who do not possess Aadhar Card, the GHMC is making elaborate arrangements in all 18 circles to get them the Aadhar Cards. The Commissioner further directed the Deputy Commissioners to instruct the booth level officers to make three more visits to the cases of ‘door lock’ and ‘shifting of residence’. He further instructed that the booth level officers should work from morning hours till evening on all days, including holidays.

The Commissioner said with regard to door lock cases the booth level officers should obtain the phone numbers of the neighbors to initiate necessary action, with regard to change of residences cases notices have to be issued to the people who are staying in those houses. The Aadhar seeding process should be taken up with existing booth level officers along with Sanitary Field Assistants, Bill Collectors and other employees in GHMC.

As per the directions of the Election Commission, Aadhar seeding review meeting should be conducted on 25th of July at 10.30AM at GHMC Head Office and also in all the circle offices to this effect he has directed the Deputy Commissioners to conduct review meeting in their respective circles with the political parties. He directed the Deputy Commissioners to furnish the details of death voters, door lock cases, change of residences to the political parties at the earliest. (INN)
