8 injured as blast targets Egypt’s police building

Cairo, Aug 20: At least eight people were injured in Egypt in a blast early on Thursday that targeted a police building, media reported.

A car bomb explosion caused damages to the front of the police building in Qalioubiya province near the capital city of Cairo, Xinhua news agency quoted a local TV reporter as saying.

Policemen were among those wounded in the explosion.

Eyewitnesses said the blast affected some of the surrounding buildings including a school.
